Cal State Northridge student and Saugus High graduate Nick Delio is continuing his endless golfing summer.

On Monday, Delio is heading to Notre Dame, Ind., to play in a one-day qualifier. If he survives, he would play at Point O' Woods Golf Course in the 102nd Western Amateur Golf Championship in Benton Harbor, Mich.

On Aug. 3, Delio will be part of a Morris Cup team from Southern California that will travel to British Columbia. They will participate in the Pacific Coast Championship.

On July 20 at the 109th SCGA Amateur Championship, at Saticoy Country Club in Somis, Delio finished tied for 12th with a nine-over 279.

"It was a very difficult course," Delio said. "I think I did OK. My goal was to win it. I was a little disappointed."

Delio shot four birdies, including the 18th hole. He also ended up with three bogeys, one double-bogey and a triple-bogey on the 14th hole. It was a three-day, four-round tournament that 98 golfers participated in.

UC Irvine and Hart graduate Brian Edick of Valencia finished tied for seventh at the SCGA Amateur tournament, with a six-over 294.
